BILARONG PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

A popular playground on the shore of Narrabeen Lagoon, with a shaded, fenced area for younger children and climbing ropes and larger equipment outside it for older ones. The whole playground sits under tree cover, and there are picnic tables, barbecues, toilets and a drinking water fountain. Some good rock carvings are worth finding. The eight-kilometre circuit around the lagoon serves walkers, runners and riders, and it cuts straight through the park, so keep an ear out for bike bells when crossing. It is an easy place to launch a kayak, canoe or paddleboard, and the water views are excellent. Two things to plan for: parking is metered and expensive unless you hold a Northern Beaches permit, and there are only two toilet blocks on the whole circuit.
